Save Money- Detox with natural products

Your colon is one of the major players in eliminating waste and toxins out of your body. Unfortunately your colon can also quite easily get mucked up with extra waste, causing not only discomfort, but it can also create a havoc on your health. This is inevitable especially because of the kind of life we lead these days. Our daily routine allows us little exercise and with less time to cook we end up ordering food that is highly processed, high on fat content but very low on fiber. The result is that the walls of the intestinal tract get impacted by fecal matter. This can lead to constipation. But it can also lead to many other ailments. So having a clean colon can help in alleviating a majority of these diseases.

Besides constipation some other ailments that have been attributed to an unclear bowel are:

headaches,
-fatigue,
-obesity,
-depression, and
-allergy symptoms

After my dad became ill and then passed away with colon cancer that spread to his liver, and pancreas I realized I needed to make lifestyle changes. I tried several store bought herbal detox systems after reading about the importance of eliminating "sludge" in my body. I also tried some intolerable herbal home remedies, including the one that Beyoncee has used( or so they say). I was not able to tolerate some of the spicy recipes, nor could I stand some of the meal plans. SO I combined the best(most tolerable) of several in order to clear my system. Did I mention that I did not want to spend any more money? I was able to detox with minimal side effects. This is an inexepensive method of jump starting a diet as well. Clean your system gently then beign to eat a healthier meal plan.

I put my college education to work and read up on several all natural ingredients. Sea Salt kept showing up in many recipes I read. SO after reading about its benefits I felt that my family should give up traditonal table salt and take up sea salt. Another ingredient commonly used in many home remedies is lemon. The final ingredients include honey and water. I used my recipe with good results, and was able to give up my Diet Dr. Pepper habit. I saw improvement including reduced bloating and a small amount of weight loss.

The Recipe for Detoxifying your system

Colon cancer is cancer of the large intestine (colon). According to the American Cancer Society, colon cancer accounts for about 50,000 deaths in the United States every year. It is ranked after lung and breast cancers as the third most common cancer in the United States, with more than 140,000 new cases every year. Colon cancer is highly preventable. Almost 90% deaths due to colon cancer can be prevented by early screening and lifestyle modification.

My recipe with a cost of under ten dollars can be done with ingredients you probably keep anyway:

Mix two tablespoons of sea salt in 24 ounces of hot water and have it on an empty stomach. Heat it like you would a pot of tea, stirring until the salt completely dissolves. The liquid should taste noticeably salty. Add a little more salt, if you need, to get a "salty broth". This gives rise to bowel movements. Make sure the salt is pure and has not been treated chemically. The untreated sea salt also does not raise blood pressure and therefore, is not harmful

Juice from a Lime/Lemon - 2 teaspoons. The lemon will encourage the intestines to contract and speed along bowel movements.Honey can be added for taste- it is also good for fighting intestinal infections.
No need to go hungry- eat a light lunch- salad or soup. Eating processed foods will diminish the effects of cleaning the colon.

You should expect to make trips to the toilet throughout the morning. Some people finish cleaning their bowels in a couple of hours, others take several days. Continue to drink water or lemonade thru the day. This process of cleansing can take from a few days to a few weeks based on previous diet and exercise routines. If you have a history of constipation you may want to continue this plan every few days for several weeks.

This is not going to be the best tasting drink you have had, but it is far preferable to many home remedies, and you will be able to eliminate toxins that slow you down.

Hi Sandwich Mom, I enjoyed the hub. Colons are a tricky thing. It has been a pain to maintain health with my colon all my life. As I got older it became evident I would need help because my insides were just not working anymore. Laxatives didn't work or worked too well. My stomach was always gassy and I was prescribed Zelnorm. Then they took Zelnorm off the market. They gave me Aziza or something like that and it was not as good for my IBS with constipation. So I did what my mother did. I went to the library. She was always one that if she wanted to do something she would study it and then just go do it. She learned piano, sculpture, painting, leatherworking and all sorts of things. Well I went to the library and found out that rhubarb makes your intestines work. I found out that slippery elm takes care of constipation. And I found out that marshmallow root helps with gas and other more intimate internal problems. I went to the health food store and got a herbal mix with all of those things and been on it for a number of years now. It works better than any med prescribed by my MD. I called my doc and told them to recommend it to her patients. I think any brand of herbs would do as well as long as they have those three things in it. Slippery elm, Rhubarb, and Marshmallow Root. If this helps anyone please pass it on. I'm not sure I can say a brand but if anyone wants to email me I would be glad to write back with the brand. Many Blessings.
